We're all "Irish" on St. Patrick's Day!
St. Patrick's day is upon us and while it may be celebrated more enthusiastically in some cities than others (think Boston, NYC or Chicago!) it has become affectionately adopted by many of us all over the country. Originally a catholic feast begun in the 17th century to honor the patron saint, St. Patrick, it has grown into a celebration of Irish Culture here in North America. Parades, parties, and traditions abound and while it is more of a holi-DAY than a entire season, it’s still fun to decorate and partake in some culinary delights!
Ok, so it’s not a holiday like Christmas, where you break out the lights and evergreen boughs right after Thanksgiving, and leave your decorations up until January. However, there are some creative, yet quick and simple ideas you can use to decorate for just a day or a weekend.
I personally love this simple wreath from Lemon Thistle, that can be hung on interior or exterior doors.

These fun cork coasters from Sarah Hearts, are also a subtle, simple way to celebrate the day.

And let’s not forget the food! A full corned beef and cabbage dinner is a MUST for me each year, on or around March 17th. Never done it before? Don’t worry, it’s actually super easy and oh-so-tasty. Need some guidance? Check out the recipe from House of Nash Eats.

Want to indulge a little after dinner? Irish Coffee is where it’s at. There’s nothing better than combining our favorite morning drink into a cocktail. This recipe from Cookie and Kate will take you through it step-by-step.

No matter your background, there’s no denying that celebrating like the Irish on St. Patrick’s Day is a whole lot of fun!
Sláinte!
