In our continuing series to honor National Women’s History Month this week’s post celebrates a very special woman, Nevine Sobhi. While almost all of Golden Hill Studio’s products are made right here in the United States, our line of blown glass ornaments are created in Egypt, by this brilliant and talented woman.

Nevine is not only the owner and head designer in her company, but she has made a concerted effort to employ women, especially those who may be widowed or divorced and in need of providing for their children. She has also grown her company into an export business, where she sells her products to us, here in the United States, and also exports to Europe, Asia and South Africa.

Like many women entrepreneurs I know, Nevine is passionate about her products and about making her customers happy. She says, “For me, my joy and pride is to think that at Christmas-time my designs are adorning the homes of so many people around the world.”

I am thrilled to be able to offer Nevine’s exquisite blown glass ornaments, and to work with a woman with such creativity and determination.
