While some may think this a “cliché” or an “old-wives tale” it’s still pretty accurate. At least here in the northeast, we get a fair amount of rain in the month of April (which unfortunately leads to a fair amount of mud, too!) But the payoff is the bounty of spring flowers and grass as green as emeralds. It’s worth all the umbrellas in the world!

Flowers are one of our favorites for the glassware we hand-paint here at Golden Hill Studio and I’m so excited to finally be able to share our newest design with our Poppy Floral Collection!

Our hope is that our glassware is used and/or displayed in such a way that brings a touch of joy and happiness. Perhaps a wine-tasting evening with friends in our bright poppy painted wineglasses, or celebrating Mother’s Day with a delicious cake in the cake dome. Interestingly, the poppy, which was a prevalent flower in Europe during World War I has become a symbol of pride and remembrance for our military personnel; if you’re heading to a Memorial Day or 4^th of July picnic, you may want to bring that pasta salad in a Poppy Floral Bowl!
