Welcome to the Family
I’ve been pretty clear about my love of all animals, but especially cats. It’s hard to remember a time when I didn’t share my life and home with at least one kitty. So when I lost my lovely Claudette some months ago to age and illness, her sidekick, Mr. Bud, and I were pretty sad and lonely.
(Claudette)
(Mr. Bud)
I’m lucky to have a young man that works for me one day a week, helping with yard work, and heavy lifting type projects. He knew that I’m not typically just a one-cat kind of gal, and let me know when not one, but two of his sister’s cats were expecting litters. Enter 12-week old Arlo, and 9-week old Coco.
Arlo is named after one of my favorite folk singers, Arlo Guthrie, and Coco is named after fashion icon, Coco Chanel (who often wore black and white). While Mr. Bud was hesitant to share me, and his space, at first, he is quickly coming around. In the last several days I have caught him “grooming” the kittens by licking their ears, and most fortunately, he is no longer hissing when they torture him with their toddler play.
The little ones are bringing so much joy and laughter to our big old farmhouse and I wouldn’t have it any other way!
