However, if you’re like me, your pets are an important part of your life, and sometimes pets and plants don’t mix. There are a number of plants that can actually make your cat or dog sick, from mild vomiting, to more severe poisoning.
Luckily, there are also a number of plants that are non-toxic and pet safe.
Spider Plant - One of the most common house plants, not only is the Spider Plant safe for cats and dogs, but it’s one of the easiest plants to take care of. So if you’re concerned that your thumb might not be too green, start with a Spider Plant.
Boston Fern - With leaves that look like feathers, this plant is great for hanging. With indirect sunlight, and light watering, they can last for years and won’t harm your pet.
Prayer Plant - This plant gets its name from its unique shaped leaves, which change position in the evening, giving the effect of being folded together in prayer. Don’t worry if kitty interrupts the prayer session, a little nibble is not going to hurt her.
Cat Grass - Also known as Wheat Grass, not only is this type of plant non-toxic, but the vitamins and minerals contained in the grass can actually be nutritious for your pet and help with their upset stomach.
